Introducing Filter Bubble: A list of coffee paper filters

This one is as straightforward as it gets - what are all of the paper filters out there? How do they differ in material and production process? By design intent, how fast is it meant to flow?

You'll notice a fairly wide range of prices, with Sibarists notably taking the top spot in price. In doing this research, I did find Sibarist to be by far the most confusing to understand and fast-paced in product lifecycles.

Personally, my go-to's are Cafec Abaca/T90's. I use them interchangeably and don't sweat whether one is negligibly faster or consistent. I don't know how many thousands of each I've used, but there's no gains to be had by nitpicking here.

I frequently say this about filters: if you can't make a pretty great cup with something midrange (e.g. Abaca/T90) and can only get there with something more expensive, it's likely that you have a dialing problem, rather than a specific filter being so much better than anything else. In short: I don't suggest stretching your budget on filters, but they're fun to play with.

At the time of this writing, my goal is to reduce the number of filter types I own. The unused ones have lived rent-free in my drawers and cabinets for years now, and don't improve my coffee by being there for "what-if" scenarios.
